It feels like a hell of a long time coming but the release of the Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs debut album, ‘Feed the Rats’ is now so close you can taste it.
These titans from Newcastle have been destroying amps and inducing the worst hangovers ever felt by man for five years and in that time have raised their live game to a genuinely terrifying level. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve always been loud, drunk and berserk but these days a Pigs x 7 gig leaves you bedridden for a week in crippling emotional pain, praying to the Gods of Buckfast for forgiveness (and it’s all been worth it). It’s as if these fierce, magic truffle munching piglets who spent their days terrorizing local villages have morphed into colossal hairy boars with blood drenched tusks, being ridden by pissed goblins and are currently charging into the battle with spears flying everywhere.
‘Feed the Rats’ has captured everything we love about this band – power and aggression but combined with overwhelming energy and fun. All backed up by riffs could go toe to toe with any band on the planet.
To celebrate the launch, which is Friday 20th January through Rocket Recordings, they’ll be invading the Lexington on the Saturday 21st January, which is going to be just fucking savage! Together with the jaw dropping support of Lower Slaughter and Tough Tits, ladies and gentleman, it’s time to smash off the shackles of this cruel winter and start swinging off some ceilings.
